Mission
What I love most about photography is getting to know my clients as we walk the lawns of Vanderbilt or the streets of Rhinebeck in search of just the right spot with just the right light to set our shot aglow. My mission is to help you #showyourstory—whether it be a story of love, of friendship, of family, of art, of professional success, or of life—and a huge part of fulfilling that mission is learning a little about each of those things!
Goals
More than just look good, I want all of my client sessions to feel good. My ultimate goal is to capture my clients’ smiles, laughs, and personalities in the way that those closest to them have the privilege of witnessing each and every day. The key to achieving this goal is to help them feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera.
There are a few things I do to ensure my clients’ comfort throughout our sessions, some of which are detailed below:
01.
–
I will always be my natural, silly self with you. (Sometimes to a fault; I truly can’t help it.)
02.
–
I will very likely make you laugh—if not with me, then definitely, at least, at me!
03.
–
I will never rush you. Really. My session times are guidelines—I care much more about getting the shots you want than charging you for 10 extra minutes.
04.
–
I will always ask permission before sharing your photos on social media and/or in any other online or public space.
“Having our family photos taken by Rachel is always a fun adventure. She makes you feel relaxed, all while giving you confidence with her big smile.”

Origin Story
My career as a photographer began quite accidentally, when a dear friend saw talent in the just-for-fun photos I shared on Facebook and asked me to second shoot five of her already-contracted weddings nearly 10 years ago. I agreed, learned a whole lot in a very short amount of time, offered portfolio-building sessions to close family and friends, and started gaining clients of my own. My first solo wedding season was in 2014, and my business grew quickly from weddings to newborns and everything in between.
Now, in 2023, I have stepped away from larger weddings and events to focus on micro-weddings & elopements, portrait & lifestyle photography, and small events & live performances, all with an emphasis on more relaxed sessions with families, friends, couples, individuals, pets, professionals, and creatives—sessions that we can take our time with and bring outdoors to sunny gardens or dampened woods, to historic buildings, bustling villages, and exciting city streets.
I believe in the personalization of my work, the personality of my subjects, and the presence of a story in every given moment. 🤍
